Client Testimonials

I recently had the radioactive  I-131 hyperthyroid cure treatment performed on my cat Devon; so, this was a visit to see how Devon was doing 30 days after the I-131. He's doing great, with a T4 of 1.3. Dr. Erin Frey is my vet, and she continues to exceed my expectations in a veterinarian, with her skills and attentiveness. When we begin each appointment, I can clearly see that Dr. Frey has reviewed my cat's medical records before the appointment begins; in other words, Dr. Frey comes into the appointment prepared.  I have never felt like she's their so she can get more money out of my bank account transferred to her account. Dr. Frey's first priority is to make the lives of her clients' pets better, using her skills, knowledge, and honesty. Dr. Frey continues to treat each of my 5 cats as individuals--not a one size fits all; that's very important when it comes to vaccinations.  Her up-to-date knowledge and skills are a major plus. Cat boarding: Although I have never needed to board my cats, I really like where the cat room is located.  The cat room adjoins the lobby, with a large picture window, allowing everyone in the lobby to view the entire cat boarding area.  I often see staff members tending to the boarded cats.  The cat room also has windows to the outside.  If I ever need to board my cats, Greenbriar is my choice. Because I have 5 cats, I'm at Greenbriar SEVERAL times during a year for various services.  Although I live in Germantown, it really is an easy 13-mile drive from my home.  Greenbriar is actually more in the Urbana area; Frederick is the postal address. - DC (Posted on Angie's List)

I have boarded my chocolate lab at Greenbriar for about 2 years now, and have occasionally used their veterinary services. Since we don't have children yet, my husband and I treat our chocolate lab pretty well.  I will admit that she is spoiled, which is why when it comes to leaving her for a period of time, I want the best for her.  Greenbriar definitely delivers.  We have used other kennels in the area for shorter term stays, but I am always pleased with Greenbriar. The facility is very clean, the staff is very nice, and they offer a lot of extra services (including a dog park and a do-it-yourself dog wash). They used to give us a report card that detailed our dog's stay, but recently we haven't been receiving those, which is something I really enjoyed.  She does (usually) get a bath before she leaves, which is very nice - she comes home from other kennels smelling like... well, a kennel. As I mentioned, they also provide a do-it-yourself dog wash.  I had never done it before, and figured it would be better than (1) paying a lot more to have her groomed or (2) clogging up our drains with her hair.  The dog wash is back in the grooming area, which is somewhat awkward, walking past all the dog cages and back into the dog grooming salon.  But, it was worth only paying $12 and not having to clean up - they provide soap, towels, etc.  There's also a hair dryer back there to use. Overall, I really enjoy Greenbriar. No kennel is going to be just like home, but they provide great service and I don't feel so sad leaving her for a few days in the care of their wonderful staff. - KL (Posted on Angie's List)

I use Greenbriar Veterinary Hospital & Luxury Pet Resort for getting my dog groomed. I have also boarded my dog there. They are very friendly, and that is why my dog likes it so much. He doesn’t have any anxiety going there. Most of the people there are young, and love dogs. I can just see it in their eyes and how they talk to them, and my dog’s reaction to them. He doesn’t mind going there. He is a big dog, and they have huge kennels. They have other things like walks in the park and playtimes that I can sign up for, and he likes that too. The groomers that he had are really nice, and they did a great job. They give a report card when he boards there. He gets a report card on what he ate, and how he acted and what was his reaction to the different things that were going on. - LK (Posted on Angie's List)

I can't say enough great things about this group of special people. We came here in November for an extended work assignment along with our 9 month of frenchies. They have fallen in love with the doggy day camp here and literally sit at the door and pout and cry on the days we don't take them. Thank you all so much for the wonderful care and spoiling you've given us during our time in Frederick. Knowing my kids were safe and happy in your care made my days here so peaceful! —  MC

First, we would like to say thank you for the great care when we recently had our cat at Greenbriar for emergency medical treatment. He is a Himalayan cat named Ben and he was there 14-16 August 2009. He has asthma and must take medications daily. The facility looked really great and we are considering boarding him there when we go on a short vacation. Thank you!" - BO

Last March, my cat, Bumper was dying of cancer. He was operated on at Greenbriar and given chemotherapy. He's now doing great and we are grateful. The staff and doctors at Greenbriar are great. I was touched by the compassion shown to Bumper and to me by all the staff from the Vets to the receptionists. -AL

Thanks so much to the kind and caring staff at Greenbriar! My dachshund Chauncey has had some terrible back pain. Your receptionist greeted me with open arms at the door and your doctors were absolutely wonderful. They provided comfort for Chauncey and plenty of TLC during his visit. Your doctor has also followed up with phone calls to check on Chauncey. You couldn't ask for anything more. Thank you again. - TC

What an amazing team! My Jack Russell was suffering pain and discomfort. I sent an email on Wednesday night requesting an appt. And by mid morning I had an appt. By early afternoon we had a plan and by 5 pm my Ruby was in surgery. Linda....thank you for caring so much and coordinating everything. Dr. Hirth. Bless you for genuinely caring and making my girl a priority. To the surgeon who gave ruby a chance to be pain free ...may god bless you....all of you are amazing individuals...my cup runneth over.... - DJ

This was the first time my kids have been borded, it was extremely tough for me but your staff made it a little easier to be able to let go. I would like to send a huge thank you to the staff of greenbriar. Is there anything in works by chance to have cams available in the kennel for the parents to check in on their kids? Thank you again to such a great staff and an absolute wonderful facility.  - JR

Thank you all for taking such good care of our Sammie. Three weeks was a long time for us to be away, but he certainly did great. The reports were good also. Greenbriar is truly a first rate “home away from home” for our pets. S.R.

I have used many boarding kennels with all three of my dogs, but I have never experienced such a wonderful, friendly and professional place like Greenbriar. It really is a resort. One of my dogs required specific medications and care. I met with the director and the kennel manager and we discussed my dogs needs and came up with a plan I felt comfortable with. I left knowing my pets were well taken care of. I loved knowing there was a veterinary clinic at Greenbriar right on site so if anything would happen they would get medical attention immediately. What a piece of mind!!! KL
